Keystone Module Mount Support in Protocase Designer?

Post by schlammbad »

In Protocase Designer, is there a part/component, method, or best practice to add a hole for a keystone module with appropriate supports behind the hole to hold the keystone module firmly in place? I was hoping that this would be something built-in to the designer since it seems to be an industry standard, but I couldn't find anything. Unfortunately, just having the rectangular hole is not enough. There is a rigid support piece needed on the back side of the hole to lock the keystone module into and everything needs to be lined up pretty accurately.

Example keystone module for an RJ45 jack:

For my particular application, I wish to use this in multiple locations on the front of a custom rack mount enclosure and have the keystone modules appear flush with the face of the enclosure.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Hey schlammbad,

Unfortunately we don't have anything built into Designer to handle this currently. I have talked with our Engineering and Design Services department to see if they had any suggestions on how to accommodate this in your design.

Would you have the part number of the connector you are looking to use? With that info, I can pass it onto Engineering and Design Services to get a more detailed response on how we can accommodate that design.

Feel free to email us directly (cpoushay@protocase.com or designer@protocase.com) if it makes communication easier.

Thanks,
