Cannot place any object on face

Running XP Professional Service Pack 3, fully patched.
Using Protocase Designer v3.12j Build 909.
I watched the cutout placement tutorial.
5ru rackmount case.
Cannot place any cutouts, standoffs, etc on any face. Always says "Invalid Placement Location".

This doesn't look like it should be this difficult.

I fixed it. AMD/ATI released new video drivers on Oct 22, 2010 that solved the problem.
