Using the template generator in 4.9.7.2 for:
Rackmount Enclosures -> Rackmount
with Unit Height set to "1U"

Results in a design with asymmetrical exclusion areas on the front panel.

Is this correct? I see nothing in the 3D generation of why the right side would have a higher exclusion feature than the left.

No this is not right. What it is suppose to represent, and exclude users from potentially interfering with, is the flange behind the front panel. I will but this in your support system to have it fixed.
