This is all I get. The splash pops, and this copy paste was with sudo after the same results without.

I don't see the issue, I just updated Java 8 to java's current. Install.sh ran fine the jdesigner.jar isn't running

Thanks for you interest in Protocase Designer.

The current version of Designer doesn't work properly with the OpenJDK bundled with Ubuntu.
In an upcoming release, we will be using OpenJDK11, but for now we recommend using Oracle's JDK8 on Linux with Designer.
