Rackmount Case Issues - Mainly Text

Hi,
I'm running 4.4.8 on Win8.

I'm designing a 10U rackmount enclosure which is 2" deep, similar in form factor to a mixing desk.
I have placed Standoff PEMs and cutouts, but have a few problems with text.

1. Once I have applied text, even one character, the "Accept and Close" button or menu item won't work. However I can continue editing.
The "Reject Changes and Close" function works, but obviously I lose my work since last save.

2. Each time I apply text (eg a number adjacent to a switch), the font size is alternating between 9 and 38.

3. I was unable to change the colour. When I clicked "Blue Pantone C", nothing happened.

I copied the file to a USB stick and tried on the old machine, which has 4.4.6 running on XP.

Again I was unable to bring up the colour selection, however I could "Accept and Close".
I also had the same alternating text size issue.

Having tried again on the new machine, the silkscreen colour selection now seems to be working, though the text size and "Accept and Close" issues remain.

My last project was a 1U Enclosure Type B, I'm very happy with the finished product!

Hi Simon,
I apologize for the late reply regarding your issue. In order to figure out the cause of your problem we would need the file you are working on and a copy of your debug.0.log

Alternatively, you can download the latest version of designer where this error should not occur,
