The cutout manager is empty (when editing a face), inspite of the fact that on that face there are several cutouts (moslty round).
Why is that ?

The cutout manager does not list cutouts on the face - it is for creating, editing, and managing custom cutouts. So if you open the manager and say new cutout, you can create a fan array, ethernet port, or a smiley face and save that cutout. Then it will always be available to you for use in the future.

If the idea is to make it easy for people to design their own case, why wouldn't you have ports pre-made for us for the initial install. Specifically, a D-style hole is what I'm looking for. The hole that is used for things like this...

There are - look under place->ports in the face editor. Specifically the D-Port is the one you are looking for.

It's the D-L-1... Commonly used for XLR connectors. I see the d connectors used for computers, but not this one... I'm still working with it though.

Ah, my apologies! We will be supporting import/ exporting of cutouts in the near future (early next year probably) and people will be able to share cutouts on the forums, as well as request cutouts from our engineers.

You really should also have "standard standoffs"... IE have a standoff "map" for a mini itx or atx board..... a "map" for a power supply... Ect.

not yet,
there is some infrastructure that needs to be programmed in first to be able to run macros for replacing all the default pems with different pems and placing the cutout on the back for the ports.
