Custom Cutouts

Post by dennisksmith@gmail.com »

Is there a manual on how to make custom cutout shapes (ie a "D" hole for a bulkhead connector)?

We haven't completed the tutorial for the changes made to the editor in version 3. I'll make sure to post it up here when it's finished.

Thanks,
Steve

I too have a lot of questions and comments about Custom cutouts.
1) I need a way to set X, Y coordinates for the cutout.
2) I need to set center of cutout to 0,0 or some other value.
3) I'm not sure the cut out is correct size when complete. Base cutouts have no properties
4) What is the tolerances we can expect ?
5) it would be nice to grab the segments and move them.
6) Are there cutouts like D and Double D we can down load?

Several of your requests are available in the new version. Specifically you can move, edit, or delete segments or vertices in the cutout editor. Although there is not a measurement tool, there is a display of the coordinates in the editor and you can right click and edit the coordinates of points and such. The generic D port does exist under the menu place->ports.

Thank you for your suggestions! We are always working to improve our product and really appreciate feedback!
