My Cutout Won't Place!

Post by dronne »

If you have a cutout that won't place even though it seems to be in a valid location, chances are it has overlapping contours in it. In the current release (3.12e) there will also be a warning in the status bar saying "Invalid Cutout Placement". Check the contours of the cutout to make sure none overlap.

I'm having this problem, but I'm getting an "invalid placement location" error even though I'm completely within the allowable area.

Protocase Designer is currently unable to place a custom cutout that has overlapping contours. If you edit the cutout there is probably a pesky intersection of lines or a double line (one contour on top of another). If you would like, you may send an email to sales@protocase.com asking why your cutout won't place and attach the cutout. (go to the cutout management system, select the cutout, and press export). We will examine it and find out why it won't place.
