The Protocase Designer 4 beta is almost here!

Some new features:
- cutout library more integrated into the editor
- one editor for cutouts and faces
- templates are easier to add so expect new templates to start arriving.
- will be able to add brackets and such eventually

I got an email saying the beta was here... where can I download it?

We are currently offering the beta to a few people only but the full open beta will be very soon, maybe next week.

Just curious as to when v.4 beta will be available for the public for testing?

I've read through several of the postings, and see that the next major release after v3.12 was going to be a complete ground up rewrite in Java and JOGL which would allow for Win, Lin and Mac installations. So, also, curious to verify that v. 4 beta is this rewrite and is linux compatible?

The plan is to release it this coming week (probably later in the week). The It is a full rewrite, it is Linux and Mac compatible (having a minor issue with menus in Mac but that is it). There may of course be installation bumps and bruises with Linux - I haven't had the opportunity to try to run it on a computer that had linux but did not have the full Netbeans development environment already installed.

I do have linux (3 specifically), I do not have any netbeans development tools on my machine -- and I have another machine that has just a base installation of ubuntu.

I'll be happy to help figure out some of those bumps, if you need assistance with it.
