Re: Linux version of PD on Ubuntu 22.10

Hello dkonigs,

I agree the linux build isn't a priority and mainly works on fresh and clean installs.

Thanks for the potential fix.

Re: Personnal Library Item not displayed correctly

Hey Ti-Paul,

Currently, imported STEP files can only be a static Component in Protocase Designer. This means it is pink and not editable. You can still add things to the component but it won't behave as it would on standard sheet metal parts in Designer. Hopefully that helps.

Thanks,
Matt

Re: Paint thickness...

Hello Miles, Our tolerances are on the website. Took me a little bit to find but here it is https://www.protocase.com/resources/tolerances/finishes.php#tolerances. If you go to finish tolerances and powdercoat you can see it 0.003". For graphic tolerances you can also find it on the website but it's...

Odd. IF you can get the debug.0.logs and send them to me I can review them. Maybe I can see something.

Normally your log files are stored /Users/"yournamehere"/ProtocaseDesigner

Re: Linux version of PD on Ubuntu 22.10

Hello kirbyn,

I think this is the first time I have seen this message. Similar messages on Linux were fixed by removing FreeCad from the system. Do you have FreeCad installed?

Thanks,
Matt

Re: ProtocaseDesigner 6.0.27 unusable on Windows 10

Can you send the debug log when you ran the older version of PD? Might be the same issue and if so I have an other older version you can try that shouldn't have this issue.

Thanks,
Matt

Re: Graphic / Text

Hello,

We have limited text tools. You can however use the align and distribute tools. Probably best to make to 2 text objects and use the align and distribute tools.

Re: ProtocaseDesigner 6.0.27 unusable on Windows 10

Hello, We have had a few reports over the years of this. Unfortunately, no good workaround was found. Trying an older version is an option. https://www.protocasedesigner.com/RELEASE/release-copy/protocaseDesigner.exe May I ask you if you have any audio or video software installed? One theory is the ...

Re: Can't create design in 6.0.27

Hello Burczyk, This is because one of Protocase Designers' libraries didn't load correctly. On Linux this sometimes happens because of shared libraries with other software such as FreeCad. Windows we have had a small handle of users report a similar issue but have not found a reason. For Mac users, ...

Re: Major bug in 6.022 (for Windows)

Hello Sharx,

The ability to modify the z offset for components even in a group would be helpful and I think we did have it in version 5.

We have talked internally about adding a IO/etc cutouts that would follow components. Defiantly would be handy. Maybe a future feature release. :)
