My Cutout Won't Place!
If you have a cutout that won't place even though it seems to be in a valid location, chances are it has overlapping contours in it. In the current release (3.12e) there will also be a warning in the status bar saying "Invalid Cutout Placement". Check the contours of the cutout to make sure none ove...

Re: need to place hole/cutout in interference region
After a conversation with one of our mechanical engineers, this is what I learned: How far from a bend you can place a cutout depends on the material and its thickness. So if you want a cutout close to the edge, it can usually be done but we can't in the current Designer predict with accuracy whethe...

My Case Disappeared!
On some computers the case will occasionally disappear. There is nothing wrong with the case - simply save, close, and re-open. This is an OpenGL error and is a result of buggy firmware or software.

Restrictions on placement of self clinching fasteners
Self Clinching Fasteners cannot be placed too close to an edge. This includes cutouts that you place on your box. However, there is not a single distance rule that works - every part has its own restrictions. If there is any doubt about a part - say it is close to a cutout - contact sales@protocase....

Re: How do I make a silkscreen?
As of Protocase Designer 3.12 transparency is now supported in silkscreens so the preferred method of saving is as a 32 bit *.png rather than a 24 bit. 24 bit will still work but results will be better with 32 bit.

Re: How do we make Protocase Designer better?
Exporting views is an excellent idea. I'll keep that in mind. Showing the handles or their shadows in the face editor is also a great idea. Would you think it needs to show the circles where it attaches or the entire handle?
