Re: How hard would this be?

Hello Edward, Without actually doing the design I do not know how much it will cost. I think the L-Shape template would be a good starting point. If you need any assistance with designing you can reach out to Protocase customer support. Contact information can be found here https://www.protocase.com...

Re: How hard would this be?

Hello Edward,

It should be possible. I mean I don't know why it wouldn't be possible. :)

Thanks,
Matt

Re: Linux version crashes, freshly installed

Hello xaviergm, I think I know the issue. FreeCad uses the same CAD kernal as Protocase Designer and there is most likely conflicting versions that are trying to be loaded in to program memory. The JVM loads system files(.so) first. Than Protocase Designer loads its own dependencies. I believe FreeC...

Re: Guides/rails for shelves

Hello xaviergm, You can create a bracket which you could slide a shelf between. Am thinking you will need to use sub assemblies though. Basically a sub-assemblies is assembly you can connect to other parts by welding or fasteners(Attaching sheetmetal parts). This allows some intrigant designs so you...

Re: 4K (3840 x 2160) text

Hello galto, You should be able to change the text size in preferences. Go the file menu and click "Edit"->"Preference". The preference dialog should be visible now. Go to the "Display Settings" tab and at the bottom you should see "Interface Settings - Buttons, Tools & Labels". Click the "Custom" c...

Re: Non-Template Files

Hello advocate,

You can try loading it in as a dxf. Just open the dxf in Designer like you would a pda file.

No guarantee it will work.

Thanks,
Matt

Re: Releases

Hello Guys, Recently we release 5.7.0. In version 5.6 we had a better 2D outline of sub-assemblies but sometimes the 2D outline didn't align with the 3D model. This is now fixed in 5.7 The big feature in this release is a 5-Sided Enclosure template with a hinged cover. More to come with hinges soon....

Re: Failed to load files from version 5.2.5 in version 5.6

Hello Kanheng,

Thanks for getting back to me. It helps me by ruling out Microsoft VC++ runtime as the thing missing :)

Good to hear you got it working on another computer.

Am around if you need any other help.

Re: Failed to load files from version 5.2.5 in version 5.6

Am looking into this issue but haven't found any reason yet. Most users are not having an issue with Windows build so I think there must be a system file that is missing on your computer that most people have for some reason. Can you try installing Microsoft VC++ runtime and see if that fixes it. Li...

Re: Failed to load files from version 5.2.5 in version 5.6

Hello Kanheng,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

Can you send me your debug.0.log file. Normally this can be found in your user directory in side ProtocaseDesigner folder.

Let me know if you need help finding it and whether you are using Windows, Linux or Mac.

Matt
