Trying to set whatever offset to the Grid Size dialog when editing a face, does nothing and the offset number is not retained (shows 0 again at next dialog open).

Cutout warning with no apparent reason
For some reason, a small circle cutout placed in a safe area gives Warning – Minimum Metal Thickness. At the same time, several other identical cutouts, placed around the one in question, are perfectly fine. See these files: • this design gives two warnings, for two cutouts placed on each side of th...

how gets masked a stud on anodized aluminium front panel ?
Suppose I specify aluminium for front panel on whatever U rackmount enclosure, without handles. Apart from the standard 5 studs that fixes with the rest of the enclosure, suppose I want to add also some custom studs. If I specify anodizing process, how gets masked all those studs on the anodized sur...

Metal Type for front plate when choosing Rear Bend Rackmount ?
When choosing Rackmount for a new design, I can select the Front Panel Metal Type. However, when choosing Rear Bend Rackmount, this option does not exist. This is a limitation of the program, or a manufacturing limitation ? If the former, how can I specify – for example – Aluminium ? And a collatera...

what is the thickness of the painting ?
Assuming a standard steel rack case (whatever U size), when calculating the Y position for some side cutouts that depends on internal spacers or fixings placed on the case base, I need to involve the chassis metal thickness value of that case base (that is, the case itself). This is specified in the...

Re: issues with Mini USB cutout
I deleted the local library culprit file, I re-synchronised the library and yes, now everything is back to normal. On this occasion I noticed something peculiar: if I do whatever standard cutout (say, a circle) and move the cutout over a red exclusion zone, a popup warns me about the overlap; howeve...

Re: issues with Mini USB cutout
Just for info, in PD version 5.6.6 the default Mini USB library is still not fixed, or at least not completely fixed: when placing the Mini USB cutout, a warning still occurs (see snapshot), except that after ignoring the warning the resulting cutout seems to be ok in the final drawing. I still have...

Re: specifying the default fixing screws from the design stage ?
I've been told that things have changed since my previous orders, the current process dropped the SolidWorks road and so the approval process can be skipped. If so, where or when can one change the case screw positions ? At least in my case, I always had problems with those screws. There were situat...

specifying the default fixing screws from the design stage ?
Until now, I always had to ask for screw positioning of the upper cover in the approval process, since Protocase Designer didn't offer this adjustment. Has this changed in recent versions ? For example, on a rackmount case, can I specify (modify) right from the start the horizontal position for a pa...
