Re: Instant crash trying to edit a face...

Thanks very much for this investigation!

We still do not understand exactly what the problem is but this will help a lot in tracing it down.

Re: problem importing silkscreen

Can you please email me the case file to smanley@protocase.com?

I can have a look at the problem here then.

Thanks,
Steve

Re: Instant crash trying to edit a face...

You can try lowering the level of hardware acceleration. That might help.

We haven't been able to replicate this on our test setups but we're are working on it.

Re: How to put a radius on a flat panel

Hi;

Contact technical support and they will be able to add the radius for you. Indicate it is a designer limitation you are working around with the order. We're working on adding this functionality and a general external contour tool.

Re: Instant crash trying to edit a face...

Thanks for the feedback.

As you noticed, lowering the hardware acceleration will also disable the textures.

Are you running current video drivers on your configurations? We have seen driver updates cure similar issues.

Re: Mac version in the future?

It is being worked on.

We have a lot of success with Wine 1.0 using Linux; this might be an effective short-term option for Designer on OSX as well.

Re: Custom Cutouts

We haven't completed the tutorial for the changes made to the editor in version 3. I'll make sure to post it up here when it's finished.

Thanks,
Steve

Re: overlay of circuit board mounting holes on chassis

Hi Gary; As you have surmised, there is no magic way to line things up perfectly. The general technique is to measure a center line from your connectors to the board bottom, where it will sit on top of the pems. From there this will give you an offset from the case. We are working on a tutorial to d...

Re: Help! I can't select any faces.

On some notebook mobility chipsets with integrated graphics (notably ATI, but others too), we are seeing another issue affecting the depth buffer that may prevent you from opening a face. In addition to lowering the acceleration level, forcing a redraw might also help in some isolated cases. We're w...
